There is a large sand drift along the west coast in Vendsyssel. It is clear to see when you stand on top of Rubjerg Knude and look at the sea, The sand, is carried north by the coastal current. At Rubjerg Knude, the sea leads approx. 600,000 m3 of sand in the north every single year. The wind direction in Denmark has changed to a more south-westerly direction, which has given changes in the current along the coast and the sand migration.
