What is caught here?

Just like the lapwing is a sign of spring for the farmer, the lumpfish is for the fisherman. This bulky and inelegant fish comes in February/March into very shallow water along our coasts and fjords.

Here, the female lays her eggs in large clumps on a rocky bottom, after which the male releases his sperm over them. During the mating season, the male is reddish on the belly while the females are blue-green.
